Treat yourself to a beautiful evening on the farm – one that includes a pig and lamb roast, a cold beer (or wine!) or refreshing lemonade, and some incredible live music! We’ve created this cookout series to enjoy all of the wonderful things our farm has to offer
Join us at the farm for a cookout with Chef Brian Strecker. Brian began his career with classical French training, and over the last 2 decades, has gained experience in a number of kitchens throughout the Midwest. He has studied cooking methods from all over the world, and focusing on meat fabrication, fermentation, fresh vegetable preparations, and live-fire cooking, he recognized a vein that runs through every culture’s culinary traditions: fresh is best. He knew that establishing his own farm was a necessary step in evolving his relationship with food. Burning Barrel was established in 2015, and 2020 will be their first full season of Origin Dinners, hosted on the farm in LeCompton, Kansas.

I am so excited to create a meal with cheese and meat that was produced and raised right on your farm, and to fill out the table with the fruits and vegetables that I grew on mine.”
Festivities start as early as 3 pm, if you wish to come early and play outdoor games or just relax on the farm before the meal starts. We’ll kick the supper off at 4 pm with a delicious pig and lamb roast supper filled with local-fare. At 6 pm, guests will be offered the chance to go on a hiking adventure with us. Your ticket includes Green Dirt Farm cheese board appetizers, a buffet-style dinner, and a fabulous live show from local musicians. There will be a cash bar with wine and beer. Guests will be shuttled to the farm from off-site parking in Weston, Mo. This event is intended for adults only.

Our Saturday Cookouts are one of a kind meals created around products made on our farm, (artisan cheese and humanely raised lamb meat) as well as other local seasonal small farm products. Because of our unique focus on specific ingredients for each menu, we cannot guarantee menu adjustments or exceptions for dietary restrictions. Requests or questions regarding dietary restrictions must be emailed and approved prior to purchase.
